The mission of the International Society of Pharmacometrics (ISoP) is the promotion and advancement of the discipline of pharmacometrics, through Integration, Innovation, and Impact: quantitative integration of multisource data and knowledge of pharmacological, clinical, biomedical, biological, engineering, statistical, and mathematical concepts, resulting in continuous methodological and technological innovation enhancing scientific understanding and knowledge, which in turn has an impact on the discovery, research, development, approval, and utilization of new vaccines and therapies.
Consistent with this mission, ISoP:
• Serves as the organizing sponsor for the American Conference on Pharmacometrics (ACoP, our society‘s annual scientific meeting) and co-sponsors other national and international pharmacometrics conferences and workshops
• Offers a central organization for the integration of national and international pharmacometrics communities, initiatives, consortia, and educational activities
• Actively partners with other scientific and medical disciplines and organizations
• Provides resources, mentoring, leadership opportunities, and educational services to its members
A focus following from ISoP‘s Five-Year Strategic Plan is to continue international outreach efforts and to identify additional opportunities to expand outreach beyond the United States and Europe. Current efforts are focused on increasing the benefits of ISoP membership to prospective international members; for example, providing support for local meetings and training events, and partnering with regional and international organizations to co-sponsor conferences and symposia related to model informed drug discovery, development, and utilization. In this talk, I will highlight ISoP‘s current and planned initiatives towards fulfilling these objectives, with a special focus on activities in Asia.
